This moody, psychological thriller examines the complexities of inter-familial relationships between fathers, sons, and brothers who wrestle with dark times in their past. Day-Lewis stars as “Ray Stoker”, a reclusive ex-soldier living in the woods of Northern England who is sought out by his brother Jem (played by Sean Bean). It is Jem’s intention to repair the damage that has caused an estrangement between he and Ray, a damage set in motion by tumultuous events that started in their childhood.
