EDDINGTON – Last Day: Thursday, August 7th

Watch Trailer Director: Ari Aster
Cast: Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, Austin Butler

Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal trade barbs in a new A24 neo-Western written and directed by Ari Aster!

Joe Cross (Phoenix), the sheriff of the rural New Mexico town of Eddington, has the ambition to move up in the pecking order of local politics and opts to run for mayor. His rival, Ted Garcia (Pascal), is the current mayor who is running for re-election. Making matters worse is the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic (and the associated conspiracy theories surrounding its validity) has beset the small town, causing divisiveness in an environment where everybody knows everybody. While the contest between Cross and Garcia begins as a mere battle of words for the hearts and minds of the townsfolk, it soon escalates beyond the battleground of local politics into something that threatens to tear apart the town of Eddington itself.

A chance meeting with popstar Oliver prompts Matthew, a shy young L.A. retail worker, to schmooze his way into the “in crowd” that surrounds Oliver. NE ZHA 2

Watch Trailer Director: Jiaozi

Get set for an amazing fantasy film of epic proportions as A24 Studios brings a new sequel film from China to stateside audiences!

Following the critical and financial success of the first film, 2019’s Ne Zha (at the time, the highest-grossing non-US animated film), this new sequel continues the adventures of the eponymous character from Chinese mythology – a young boy born from an enchanted pearl, imbued with terrifying supernatural power, and destined to bring destruction to the world. Ne Zha, in the first film, pushed back against his pre-determined fate and opted to use his powers for good instead of evil. He joined forces with Ao Bing, another supernatural figure, and the two were able to prevent a cataclysmic event; however, the duo was struck by divine lightning and turned into spirits. In this new film, a wise teacher has undertaken the duty of restoring Ne Zha and Ao Bing to their material form, but there are many obstacles, challenges, and tribulations to be faced before the two can once again recover their corporeal bodies.

Having thus far grossed over $2-billion in revenue in China and the rest of the world, Ne Zha II has earned the honor of becoming the highest-grossing film of the year. With stunning visuals and a heartwarming story, the English-dubbed version set for release in the USA will feature the voice talents of Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh as “Lady Yin”.

F1 – Last Day: Thursday, July 10th

Watch Trailer Director: Joseph Kosinski
Cast: Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Shea Wigham, Kerry Condon

Brad Pitt stars in a fast-paced new film from Joseph Kosinski, award-winning director of action-dramas like Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, and Top Gun: Maverick!

Pitt plays the role of “Sonny Hayes”, an ex-Formula One racer — and considered to be the next legend of the sport — who was forced to retire from the sport after a near-lethal crash. Hayes has kept his racing career alive by participating in lesser racing disciplines and is eventually approached by a friend and F1 team owner about the possibility of mentoring a new rookie F1 driver (played by Damson Idris) as a means to save a failing franchise. Hayes accepts and again has an opportunity to prove he’s the best-of-the-best; however, his rookie teammate’s competitive nature creates more than one obstacle to overcome before both of them reach the finish line.

With a supporting cast that includes Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Shea Wigham, and a host of real-life F1 drivers, this Jerry Bruckheimer-produced edge-of-your-seat drama promises solid action fused with stellar performances.
