Lázló Tóth (Brody) is a Hungarian Jew who, after becoming separated from his wife during the Holocaust of World War II, makes his way to Philadelphia to start a new life and pursue the American Dream. A chance encounter with a wealthy man gives Tóth the opportunity to use his skills as an architect to not only refurbish a lavish estate, but also his marriage and his life.
Directed by Brady Corbet (Melancholia, The Clouds of Sils Maria), The Brutalist is being hailed by critics and audiences for the full scope of its quality. In addition to Brody, the film also stars Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce.
