Inspired by real events, this film relates the struggles of The Gheorgiu’s, a family of religiously-devout Romanians living in a remote village on a fjord in Norway. When their teenage daughter shows up at school with bruises, the local villagers, whose morals and values are culturally different, soon begin to suspect that the family’s religious practices may be to blame. Soon an investigation is initiated and the family falls under the scrutiny and strain a local judicial system that does not seem likely to judge them fairly.
