Taking its cues from Kurosawa’s 1963 police procedural film High and Low, Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest follows David King, a music industry mogul who’s said to have “the best ears in the business.” When King becomes the victim of an extortion plot that seeks to threaten his music empire, he finds himself faced with a tough dilemma that forces him into choices of a morally-questionable nature and pits him against his enemies on the tough streets of present-day New York City.
Denzel Washington stars (in his fifth cinematic team-up with Lee) alongside Jeffrey Wright, ASAP Rocky, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Ice Spice.
