About the film
This bold, animated re-imagining of the Batman legend, written and directed by Mexican filmmaker Juan Meza-León, is set during the days of the grand Aztec empire. Yohualli Coatl, a young Aztec boy, witnesses the murder of his father at the hands of Spanish conquistadors and flees to the city of Tenochtitlan. Once there, he gains entry into the temple of the bat god Tzinacan, and, using new and novel weaponry, trains himself to become the avenger of his father’s death.
