About the Films
Frosty the Snowman was broadcast on televisions to homes all throughout the nation in December of 1969 and has been delighting children ever since. A production of the famed Rankin/Bass studio, this wonderful little film tells the story of an inanimate snowman built by school kids who suddenly comes to life when a discarded magician’s top hat is placed upon his head. The magician, however, wants his hat back and will chase Frosty (voiced by Jimmy Durante) all the way to the North Pole if he has to.
Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, also originally a television special which aired in December of 1964, tells the story of the little reindeer who is initially shunned by Santa and his reindeer brethren, but who eventually proves his worth by summoning his courage to help Santa save Christmas! This year marks the 60th anniversary of this magical holiday film — shown every year, it is the longest-running Christmas film in US history!
