I Swear is an inspiring bio-pic that tells the true-life story of John Davidson, a young man from the Scottish Borderlands who, at age 15, was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome, an uncurable disorder that affects a person’s motor skills with symptoms ranging anywhere from simple facial tics to spontaneous bursts of foul language. As John’s disorder worsens and his uncontrollable behavior causes him public embarrassment, his ability to fit in to “normal society” proves challenging. That is, until he embarks on a campaign to spread awareness and a better understanding of a condition that afflicts millions of people worldwide. It is via this campaign that Davidson discovers that he has a role to play in helping society and, through his efforts, is awarded an MBE from Queen Elizabeth herself.
