Willem Dafoe and Greta Lee star in a new film written by Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Samy Burch which offers a modern take on the classic satirical novella by 19th century Austrian author Arthur Schnitzler!
Ed Saxberger (Dafoe) plays a poet who has chased fame unsuccessfully for decades, and who has found a second life as a postal worker. When a young admirer appears on his doorstep out of the blue, Saxberger is suddenly thrust into a milieu of newfound attention in his work bu a group of young writers and artists, and he gets a fresh burst of inspiration to once again flex his creative muscles. It is not long, however, before this renewed attention begins to go to Saxberger’s head — especially the attention lavished upon his by an alluring actress named Gloria (Lee). As a consequence, Saxberger must begin to reckon with the genuineness of the new poetic circle he has suddenly found himself a part of.
