Early stars as Madison “Maddie” Ralph, a tenacious dishwasher who plies her trade in a Los Angeles test kitchen that creates food-related social media content. All the while, Maddie dreams of becoming a chef. One evening, Maddie’s husband posts a home-cooking video on Tik Tok which goes viral and puts Maddie on the pop-cultural map. Her new-found fame, however, leads Maddie to lose her self-esteem about her body and begins to revisit the emotional territory that once led her to suffer from bulimia nervosa. As the condition worsens, Maddie tries to hide it from her friends and loved ones. But, as the professional pressures mount, Maddie’s secret threatens to upend all the progress she has made.
