About the film

Best friends PJ and Josie — a couple of lesbian virgin outcasts at Rockbridge Falls High School — just want to be “in” with the in-crowd of cheerleaders (and, well, make out with them). The duo decides to hatch a plan to start a fight club at their school under the guise of female empowerment, but its true intent is to create a way to get attractive girls to ultimately have sex with them. When a couple of football players begin to suspect that things don’t add up, they start causing trouble for PJ and Josie and their transparent plans start to fall apart. From there, things get weirder and wilder, culminating in a slug-fest between Rockbridge Falls HS and its rival Huntington.

Equal parts buddy comedy, high school flick, and cult film, Bottoms is the second feature directed by Emma Seligman (Shiva Baby). Co-written by Rachel Sennott (who also stars in the role of “PJ”) and starring Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), this film is a unique and over-the-top take on what it means to be gay during the impressionable years of high school.
