QUEER – Opens Friday, December 13th!

Watch Trailer Director: Luca Guadagnino
Cast: Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey
Awards: Golden Lion (nom) - Venice Int'l Film Festival

Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey star in A24’s new romantic drama based on the classic novel by William S. Burroughs!

William Lee (Craig), based on the real-life Burroughs, has fled to Mexico City in order to escape the repercussions of a drug bust back in the states. Lee is in the grips of the awful side effects of heroine withdrawal when he has an encounter with Eugene Allerton (Starkey), an attractive young man who may or may not help Lee finally kick his habit.

Set in the 1940’s, Queer is a period piece that examines the nature of a homosexual relationship during a time when attitudes to sexuality were vastly different. Directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, Challengers), Queer has already been nominated for a Golden Lion award at the Venice International Film Festival and is sure to reinvigorate interest in the literary work of William S. Burroughs.

Embodying Burroughs’ alter ego and cycling through Lee’s lust, jealousy, world-weariness, neediness, and bliss, Craig cracks this smitten, doomed romantic wide open. It’s the role of a lifetime if you hold nothing back. So he doesn’t.
