Spiz depicts the wrongful conviction of Dean Gillispie who served 20 years in prison for crimes he did not commit. Through the experience of Dean Gillispie, Spiz examines the causes and effects of wrongfully convicting American citizens.

About the speakers

Roger “Dean” Gillispie (left) was sentenced to prison for crimes he did not commit, and was only released after 20+ years of efforts to appeal his case. The Ohio Innocence Project played a major role in the re-trial of his case and his eventual freedom.

Barry Rowen (right) is a Writer, Director, Editor based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. He edits various films, commercials and tour visuals regularly. He has worked on project for artists such as Halsey, Katy Perry, Jason Aldean and Rascal Flatts.
