January 29, 2024: Red Crescent volunteers receive an emergency call. A 6-year-old girl is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab.
Detailing some of the events that led to the killing of this young Palestinian girl by Israeli Defense Forces while she and her family were fleeing war-torn Gaza, this poignant docudrama — a co-production between France and Tunisia from filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania (The Man Who Sold His Skin) — has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
