Every year the Athena Cinema in partnership with The Common Experience Project on Sustainability and Alden Library present a series of films on sustainability.
The project goal is to create an engaging and educational experience for students, faculty, staff and the regional community.
Our vision is to offer attendees the chance to acquire a deeper understanding of the current issues and concepts related to sustainability and to explore challenges and solutions.
Films this spring will examine wilderness protections in relation to development, forest regeneration and protections, climate change in Antarctica from a personal scientific journey, the sea from an acoustic protections perspective, immigrant human rights and the sustainability of the restaurant industry, waste turned to music, the growing solar industry and the challenges of songbird decline.
Following each showing a panel discussion will feature faculty, student and regional community members. Please join us for a conversation following these beautiful, thought-provoking and timely films
