Athena Cinema, Office of Sustainability and the Environmental Studies Program present the 13th annual Sustainability Film Series. This year’s series has the added honor of coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of OHIO’s Environmental Studies Program!

At the heart of this series are films that present the challenges facing our world – topics as wide-ranging as climate change, economic hardship, natural resource management, and much more. We strive to present films that attempt to provide practical solutions to these imminent problems and embody an inspiring message to motivate audiences to action. In other words, viewers should walk away from each screening with a deeper understanding of the film’s topic, while also feeling compelled to get out into the world and make some positive change.

This year, each of our film screenings will feature guest speakers – many from the OU Environmental Studies Program itself – who will give a 15-20 minute introduction or interactive presentation prior to the start of the film. This pre-show activity is meant to engage the audience and offer important things to consider while watching the films.

 

All film screening events will start at 7:00 p.m.
